David Ostow was born and raised in Northern New Jersey which explains his lingering fascination with tollbooths.

From early on David showed an interest in drawing. Legend has it that he was born with a pencil and sketchpad in hand. Several basic facts of nature call into question the authenticity of this legend.

After a childhood colored by an acute phobia of everything and an adolescence spent pretending to understand poetry, David attended Columbia University where he studied art history. Later he

received his Master's Degree in architecture from the University of Virginia. Only days after graduating his dog ate his diploma which is the most direct career advice he's ever received.

David now works at a design firm in New York City and illustrates on a freelance basis. His first book, So Punk Rock (And Other Ways to Disappoint Your Mother), a collaboration with his amazingly talented sister, Micol was published by Flux in July 2009.

David currently lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he plays his 3-tone sunburst Fender Telecaster to the cat. When he grows up he wants to be a rockstar.
